Classicism and Confusion is inspired by the Atelier tradition of training. Atelier is the French word for "workshop” and was standard for artists from the Middle Ages to the 19th century. Ateliers, focused on representational skills for the still life, landscape and portrait. Ateliers all but disappeared with the birth of conceptualism.
I am a member of the International Guild of Realism. Though this association, I was invited to join the Art Renewal Center, an international Salon leading the revival of traditional Ateliers with approved living Masters. Last summer, I traveled to Santa Fe New Mexico to study with Anthony Ryder. In February, I received a grant to study with Max Ginsburg at the Scottsdale Artist School. Next month, I will study with Juliette Aristides at Gage Academy in Seattle Washington.
